PORTO ALLEGRE

RIVERS MAKES SHOW WITHOUT PRETENSE

An audience, with approximately 40 years old age, entered in the tunnel of the time last night, in the Theater Sesi, to listen and dig the good and old rock'n'roll. New Yorker Johnny Rivers and his basic quartet of keyboards, lead guitar and drums have demonstrated that the good pop music doesn't need samplers and pre-programmed drumming. It seems nostalgic, but that is exactly what Rivers wants to stimulate in his public. After beginning the show with blues, the singer went back to the pop ballads, like the classic Jimi Hendrix's "The Wind Cries Mary", and his biggest success, "Do You Wanna Dance", that he sang along with the audience. Rivers ended up doing in Porto Allegre one of the most honest and unpretentious shows of the year.
